Simple French Toast using White Bread

A delicious and easy French Toast recipe using white bread that you can make in 15 minutes or less. A quick and sweet breakfast the entire family can enjoy.

  • 6 slices white bread
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk (or your favorite milk substitute)
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp white sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • butter for frying


  • In a shallow dish, whisk together all your wet ingredients (eggs, milk, vanilla extract) and the spices (allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon, sugar).
  • On medium low heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a nonstick skillet.
  • Dip the bread into the egg mixture, making sure that both sides get coated.
  • Fry the bread for 1-2 minutes per side until it is golden brown. Remove from heat and repeat with the other slices. Add more butter as needed.
  • Serve immediately. Top with powdered sugar, fresh fruit, and drizzle maple syrup on top. Enjoy!
